Surprises all round...

Reported to signals today, all the way at chua chu kang. Ages away from home, a full 2 hours by train then bus... NO MORE SOC at least for the duration of the 12 week course. A further promotion upon completion to the rank of 3rd sgt. How much better can it get? 3 hours to settle some admin stuff, play a sorry excuse for an icebreaker game, then BOOKOUT AT 1130!!! Pls report bact to camp on thursday morning at 730. Wadderhell. Wasting my time travelling up and down, up and down. Bookout on friday evening! Woo Hoo!

2 platoons, infocomm 1 and 2. 1 goes to chiongsua, carrying signal sets and coils upon coils of commsline. The other learns to prep the signal vehicles, and gets driven around. The distinguishing feature? Height! The vertically challenged get to set up vehicles, those big sized buggers can go and run after our trucks laying out their comms line haha. Rarely does it pay to be short, but there are its good times.

NDP coming up. Some of us will be chosen to attend the training for the parade. Book in Saturday mornings till 10 pm. To make things worse, these unlucky few are just stand-ins for the rehersals, till the regulars come back. No chance of getting to participate even if your weekends are burned. Sacrifice your time for honour and glory T_T wtf. Hopefully the criteria for selection remains the same heh heh...
