Seeing the beauty in all around me...

Yay yay yay, still out of camp on monday!
3rd week (and thank god last week) of field camp is finally over. 2 more weeks to a new posting... To think I've been living in oblivion, not knowing the value of the simple things around me. Having light at the touch of a switch, water at the twist of a tap. Heck, even being able to walk on a clear road without having to bash through thick tangled and sometimes thorny vegetation is good enough. Walking in the pouring rain with no shelter, soaked, boots filled with water, squelching at every step, with no spaer pair of boots for the next 3 days. Appreciating the beauty of civilisation...
Loved the flora and fauna there though, except for the mosquitoes and blood-suckers. Praying mantis(es)/mantids?, spiders as big as apples (including leg span), wild boar, and even more incredible - a Pangolin or Scaly ant-eater. Wish I had a camera with me...
