The Fruits of Labour are Sweet Indeed...

Went back to school for the first time in soooo long! Many happy memories, remembering all the times spent mugging – the 2nd floor of the library, the various study benches (especially the one behind the LT), rushed consultations…
Finally time to see if all that hard work paid off. Felt mildly queasy entering the hall. Anxiety, as the names of people with 3 distinctions were displayed on the screen. Stress, as people I knew were called up to take their cert. Fear, as my name was not shown. Spent the next few minutes imagining all the worst case scenarios that could have happened – did I really do that badly for my maths (a subject which I handled with distaste, and went through with nothing more than F's and AO's in the course of my WHOLE JC life) and physics (a paper I thought I screwed up badly)? There were 2 possible scenarios – I really messed up the 2 papers, or a slim chance – that by some "divine intervention", I had somehow managed to score distinctions for those 2 subjects… When only 33 students were mentioned scoring 4 "A"s, my hopes plummeted further. How could I be one of them? The heat was on, the pressure mounting, as one by one, my classmates were called up. Then – jubilation! My name was shown! A break in the clouds, the sun shone through. A bubble burst inside, and I walked up in a daze with the uncontrollable urge to laugh to run to dance with joy… Never did expect it. Never thought I could do it. Never in my wildest dreams had I thought of doing this well. Weeks of hard work had finally paid off, and UNDYING GRATITUDE to those who were with me all those days, those who motivated me, to those who brought me through the darkness and into the light… To you guys who gave me strength, to u guys who fortified my will. THANK YOU!
