dum dee da da dum...
Sit test (situational test) was a fun experience, especially the missions... Started off monday morning with a 12 km route march wiv the usual turtle shell etc. First 4 km was xian. Din feel like walking. Next 4 was more bearable, as we ventured into new terrain, some uphills and downhill, pebbles, sand grit. The last 4 was the most fun, venturing onto the reclaimed land. Lush vegetation (of the savannah type, man-high grass -good for ambushes, heh heh) all around, the occasional tree and snake track along the path, trudging under the blazing sun and a long, seemingly never ending dusty road. Set up camp, thankfully in a sheltered glade. Go assigned to carry the LAW (Light Anti-tank Weapon) Recoil-less, smoke-less, flash-less and very quiet, but the stupid thing was 850mm long and weighed 6.3kg. Shoot once then throw away - cannot reload. What a waste of resources. Had to lug the thing around all through sit test and evn guard it at night,on top of my rifle. Luckily none of my weapons were stolen so far, so no guard dty =D Was hell when night arrived. Actual CLOUDS of mosquitoes swarmed about harassing us, all with the cursed ability to pirce through uniforms. However, apparently there are people with blood sweeter than mine, heh heh. just sand next to them and presto! not as bites (okay, I know it was bad, but how else to avoid the dam little buggers?) Discovered a SECRET. Leave a pack of mnms in the sun, and you get a crisp outershell with a little piece of melted heaven on the inside... (M&Ms plain not peanut) mmmmmmmmmm
Tuesday was spent carrying out the "missions", mostly along the lines of navigating obstacles within a time limit, e.g.building a structure to cross a 3 meter gulf (only a 3.5m pole and 4 X 1 m poles provided) in 20 min, climbing a 3 meter high cliff with a singlp 3.2 m pole etc... physically and mentally challenging stuffs that left us all exhausted... went back to my tent only to see what looked like a snake slither under my groundsheet. The cute little thing was onlythe length of my index finger, no thicker than a pencil. More likely a species of legless lizard than a snake. It evade capture and managed to escape... no pet =(
Wendsday was pretty much the same, missions, then back to sweet blessed camp! Bed and rest (or so i thought............)
